Milestones

2016

  • In March 2016, Wings for Conservation is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce, as a foundation for nature conservation activities.

2019

  • Purchase of our second aircraft, a Cessna 172.

  • Aircraft flies 186 hours, covering 27,000 kilometers.

  • The process for the creation of Zah-Soo National Park is started.

2017

  • Granted non-profit status in the Netherlands (ANBI).

  • Purchase of our first aircraft.

  • Signature of a three year MOU with the Chadian Government.

2020

  • Aircraft flies 198 hours, covering 28,000 kilometers.

  • Renewal of the MOU with the Chadian Government for five years until 2025.

2018

  • Arrival and field deployment of our aircraft in Chad.

  • Aircraft flies 262 hours of conservation missions in the first year, covering 36,000 kilometers.

2021

  • Aircraft flies 273 hours, covering 41,000 kilometers.

  • Discovery of a new giraffe population in central Chad.

  • Recording of the largest group of Dama gazelles in the wild in several decades.

2022

  • Aircraft flies 484 hours, covering 70,000 kilometers.

  • Zah-Soo National Park is created.

  • Recording of the highest daily counts (over 40) of Dama gazelles in the wild in several decades.

  • First project outside of Chad, in  Niger.
